- The Steelmax D1 Magnetic Drill uses a maintenance free rail system that never needs adjusted and always keeps the cutters in line with the machine, thus causing less wear on the cutters.
- Maintenance free guide rail system: Every other mag drill on the market works on a gib system. These gibs needed tightened every 50 hours, if not they get loose. This can cause chatter on your annular cutter, any chatter will cause annular cutters to wear faster, or worse break.
- Integrated Coolant system: Comes standard with every mag drill. Many drills in the market, this is add on, without integrated coolant your cutter life drops tremendously!

- The D1 is an ultra compact magnetic drilling machine with maximum capacity of 1-3/8" (35 mm) diameter in 2" (51 mm) thick material. The unit features an ultra light weight of 22 lbs (10 kg). A maintenance-free rail guide travel system eliminates the necessity for alignment, maintains accuracy and reduces cutter breakage.
- The D1 is equipped with an electromagnetic Energy Saving Base (ESB) which uses only 50% of the power when the motor is not under load, dramatically increasing the operating life of the electromagnet, and a Magnetic Field Shape Control (MFSC) system which provides maximum holding power on thin material. A Magnetic Power Adhesion Control (MPAC) module detects adequate adhesive force of electromagnetic base before allowing drill activation for safe operation.
