Genie Lift Help
Material lifts come in a variety of sizes, the first decision is to make is
what is the weight capacity needed, and the size of lift
Series of Lifts::
1000 lb rating (Genie SLA and Sumner 2000 Series):
- Genie Lift and Sumner Lift both give you the ability to lift up 1000 lbs
with the Genie SLA and Sumner 2000 Series lift. Both lifts offer the same capacity.
- The SLA and 2000 Series have some benefits that should be considered when
purchasing:
1. The mast sections of the lift are shorter then other series which allow
SLA and 2000 series to go through doorways with ease.
2. The lift will be heavier then other series since extra mast sections are
added to allow for the shorter height.
3. Side stabilizer bars are standard on lifts over 20 ft. high; these are considered
accessories on lifts 15 ft. and under.
4. Genie Lifts offers a Standard base and STRADDLE base lift, the straddle base
lifts are made to straddle pallets for loading and off loading heavy materials.

650 lb rating (Genie SLC and Sumner 2100 Series):
- Genie Lift and Sumner Lift both give you the ability to lift up 650 lbs with
the Genie SLC and Sumner 2100 Series lifts. Both lifts offer the same capacity.
- The following are specifications to consider: SLC-12, SLC-18, SLC-24, 2112,
2118, 2124
1. The SLC and 2000 series have a higher mast section then the SLA and 2100
lifts which are higher then doorways but can be tilted on its back wheels to
go through doorways.
2. Contractor lifts are meant for work being done in one room at a time ex:
(warehouses, jobsites (pipe handling), air-conditioning vents heating and cooling
units.
3. Portability is not an issue the lifts fold up into themselves and can be
put into the back of a pickup truck or van.
4. Side stabilizer bars are standard on lifts over 20 ft. high; these are considered
accessories on lifts 15 ft. and under.
500 lb rating (Genie GL Series)
- Genie Makes the Genie GL Series which is available in 4, 8, 10 and 12 foot
heights.
- The following are specifications to consider:
1. The GL series comes in both straddle and standard base, STRADDLE base is
designed for pallet lifting has a wider stance.
2. The forks on the GL series can be inverted to allow for extra height capability
by 1.5 feet.
3. The GL series also comes in COUNTERWEIGHT models, this extra weight added
to the back of the lift allows this Genie to go flush against the wall without
the forward forks. The following are links to these three models 4 ft. straddle,
8 ft. straddle and 10 ft. straddle.
300 lb rating (Genie Super Hoist)
- Genie has a one of a kind co2 powered material lift with ability to have
a 12 ft. or 18 ft. lifting capability.
- The following are specifications to consider:
1. If space is a necessity the Genie GH Super Hoist is the perfect lift, for
installation of various products with a weight capacity of up to 300 lbs.
2. A CO2 bottle powers this lift, a bottle can be purchased with this lift or
you can use one of your own.
3. The lift comes with a bracket to hold the CO2 bottle in place while in use,
with ability to add a pipe cradle.
4. This lift is a very popular and unique product.
200 - 300 lb rating (Sumner Super Lifts, Genie Load Lifter)
- The Sumner Super Lift and Gene Load Lifters are a multiuse lightweight material
lift for many types of applications
- The following are specifications to consider:
1. The Genie Load Lifter is a 200 lb max lift with ability to fold up and be
stored in a trunk of a car and is a lightweight weighing in at 45 lbs. This
load lifter can be ordered with pneumatic wheels for rolling over rough terrain.
2. The Sumner Super Hoists come in many different heights such as 4 ft.., 6
ft., 8 ft. and 10 ft. with optional metal tray, brake assembly and double wheels.
3. Super Hoists are perfect for the office or installing a/c units, duct work
or coffee machines with the ability to stow in your trunk and lightweight.
